Presentation

Liquid 6g: 50mL (6g)  or  100mL (12g)

Indications for Use

Sandoglubulin®NF Liquid is indicated for replacement therapy in:

  • Primary immunodeficiency (PID) syndromes such as:
    • congenital agammaglobulinaemia and hypogammaglobulinaemia
    • common variable immunodeficiency
    • severe combined immunodeficiency
    • Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome
  • Myeloma or chronic lymphocytic leukaemia with severe secondary hypogammaglobulinaemia and recurrent infections
  • Children with congenital Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and recurrent infections

Sandoglobulin® NF Liquid is indicated for immunomodulatory therapy in:

  • Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) in children or adults at high risk of bleeding or prior to surgery to correct the platelet count.
  • Guillian-Barré Sydnrome (GBS)
  • Kawasaki disease
  • Allogeneic bone marrow transplantation

Contraindications

Sandoglubulin®NF Liquid is contraindicated in the following situations:

  • Hypersensitivity to any of the components.
  • Hypersensitivity to homologous immunoglobulins, especially in the very rare cases of IgA deficiency when the patient has high antibodies against IgA.
  • Sandoglubulin®NF Liquid contains the excipients isoleucine and proline and is contraindicated in patients with maple syrup urine disease (MSUD) and hyperprolinaemia.

Precautions

Certain adverse reactions may occur more frequently:

  • In the case of high rate infusion.
  • Inpatients with hypogammaglobulinaemia or agammaglobulinaemia with or without IgA deficiency.
  • In patients who receive intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) for the first time or, in rare cases, when the human normal immunoglobulin product is switched or where there has been a long interval since the previous infusion.

Availability

Requests to ARCBS. Issued on an individual patient basis following approval by an ARCBS Medical Officer or available by Jurisdictional Direct Order.

Dosage and Administration

Sandoglobulin® NF Liquid dose and dosage regimen is dependent on the indication.

The daily dose should not exceed 1g/kg body weight.

Sandoglobulin® NF Liquid contains no antimicrobial preservative. The product should be used immediately on opening and any unused portion discarded appropriately.

Do not use after the expiry date.

Administer separately from other intravenous infusions or medications.
